Welcome Mentoring Class 26
Amanda Gupta | New Orleans, LA
AG Travel, LLC
Amanda’s passion for travel started from a young age. Her parents exposed Amanda to as much culture as possible through food, music, and travel, all of which helped shape her global perspective. After college, Amanda relocated to Miami and briefly to New York. During that time, she worked in public accounting as a consultant to financial services clients and traveled domestically almost every week for several years. Amanda has experience working in both public accounting and the private sector. She has served in financial controller roles for smaller organizations and as a finance manager at a larger healthcare institution. While Amanda enjoyed her career in accounting, ultimately, she wanted to be fully engaged in her true passion, travel. When Amanda and her husband are not working, they love spending time with their families and friends, traveling, and attending sporting events.
Avery Knight | Raleigh, NC
Avery Knight Travel
A family safari in Kenya at the age of 11 started Avery’s life-long love of travel. Since then, she has always been looking for her next adventure, from studying abroad in Madrid and Seville for a year in college, to summers working in Latin America during graduate school. Ultimately, Avery worked at Broadreach Summer Adventures designing international programs for teens where she gained years of experience scouting locations, and subsequently planning the many details required to ensure safe, impactful, and seamless trips. Now as a mom of two boys, she is still looking toward her next adventure often with her family of four. Whether it be a safari to Africa, a multi-generational trip to the Galapagos, a reunion with girlfriends in Miami, or a quick, tropical getaway with her husband, Avery relishes the process of planning the many logistics required to make a trip flow smoothly.
Katie Kennedy | Bloomfield Hills, MI
Katie Kennedy Travel, LLC
Katie began her career as an attorney specializing in family law for 15 years. She worked with the court system as a judicial staff attorney for a highly influential family law judge and then into private practice focusing on high net-worth family divorces. Although Katie truly enjoyed assisting and supporting clients through an extremely difficult and emotional process, she knew it was time to make a change, so she stepped away from a legal career. For Katie, a business in travel is the opportunity to converge a lifelong passion with a career. This passion was instilled while growing up with her parents and sister in Michigan. She was taught to prioritize travel and experiences over “things” at a young age. Besides the obvious travel hobby, Katie is a voracious reader and loves to golf with her husband, spend time with family, and search out the best new restaurants with the greatest craft cocktails.
Kim Davis | Charlotte, NC
Trouvaille Travel
The vision for Trouvaille as a conscious luxury travel brand was based on two previous careers as a cultural anthropologist and a mental healthcare consultant and coach. She founded the company out of her passion for authentic human and cultural connection as a means to create both personal and global awareness. She had witnessed the power of travel, and the wonder it can engender to push people out of their comfort zones to design empowering, affirming, and transformative experiences. Kim lives with her husband of 30 years and an old cranky rescue Chihuahua. Her daughter, Madeline, 25, is an intrepid traveler herself, and is now following in her mother’s prior career footsteps as an incipient psychologist. Kim volunteers her time building a local nonprofit dedicated to making mental healthcare more accessible and to an organization focused on regenerative travel initiatives. When she has free time, she enjoys finding new seas in which to snorkel, and new footpaths to follow.
