2018 Brownell Academy Recap
Orlando may be home to the “Most Magical Place on Earth”, but this year it was also home to the best company meeting on earth – the 2018 Brownell Academy. Brownell Academy is our annual company meeting where our Independent Advisors, in-house advisors, support team, and top supplier partners come together for a few days of networking, learning, and fun.
Workshops & Training
Just like most other host agencies, Brownell has Independent Advisors spread across the United States and Europe. But what makes Brownell so different is our information-sharing, supportive community. Brownell Academy is one of the key ways that we build and strengthen our community of Independent Advisors.
The theme for this year’s meeting was Brownell Oasis. The demand for travel advisors and custom, luxury trips is on the rise (learn how you can join the industry here!), but advisors can feel overwhelmed and exhausted with the influx of requests. Our goal for Brownell Oasis was to leave both the Brownell team and our travel partners reenergized with a renewed sense of purpose. During these few days, we could step away from the daily grind and spend time learning and connecting with people who have a shared passion for creating exceptional travel experiences.

Of course, there was plenty of time to learn about new destinations, hotels, cruises, and other travel experiences as well as professional development sessions focusing on everything from the new luxury to Instagram. This year, we offered longer business development meetings between suppliers and advisors so it could be more of a conversation than a whirlwind.
Friday Cocktail Party
And it wouldn’t be Brownell Academy without a little fun! On Friday our cruise partners hosted a Cocktail Party complete with massage stations. To close the weekend, we had our Saturday Awards Dinner where CEO Troy Haas and Executive Vice President Meg North announced the Devonian, 1887 Club, and Griffin winners as well as revealed the destinations for the rewards trips!
